Where history, character and a few quirky treasures come together.
Our building has been standing proud in Glossop for nearly 200 years. It hasn’t always been the Victoria Lounge though – far from it! Originally a butcher’s and ale house, it later became the Fleece Inn, then the Moon and Sixpence. Ten years ago, we took it over, gave it a new lease of life with a full refurbishment and created the space you see today.
At one point, 20 people lived in the rooms upstairs, including maids – so it’s safe to say this place has seen a fair bit of life. The building has been rebuilt and reshaped over the years, but it’s always been a spot for people to gather.
A few things you might not know
We love it here
Every corner of Victoria Lounge tells a story – from beams and bricks to horseshoes and rocking horses. It’s a place with history, heart, and a few surprises if you look closely enough.
And now, it’s also a place for great food, drinks, and good company. Exactly how a pub should be.
